The Institute was founded in 1974 to provide lifelong education for the staff of local coalmining and utility companies. Adapting to the demands of social and market changes, our institute has developed into a modern training centre. • The Institute is on the National Education Fund's List of manager education and training providers qualifying for PHARE support.

• We are currently introducing a Quality Assurance System
• We co-operate with the Federal Chamber of Commerce of Austria, its Vienna-based educational institute WIFI, the Greater Philadelphia Chambers of Commerce and the University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia, USA.

• Our training staff include a wide range of professionals including university teachers, professional inspectors, tax office experts, social security administrators, business register experts, Czech Quality Association staff, Fire Brigade experts, Construction Entrepreneur Union managers, customs administration staff.

The Institute is located in the surprisingly nice and pleasant city centre of Havířov. We have three language course classrooms, a computer room, one classroom for large groups and one manager training room. The furniture and equipment in all the rooms can easily be rearranged to meet specific train-ing requirements. The Institute makes use of modern equipment, including video players, big screen projectors, overhead projectors, tape recorders and video cameras.
